box of tricks / 2017

who am I? what do I want? where am I going? the painting depicts a minimalistic shape of an anxiolytic drug, alprazolam, stripped of all graphic symbols except those that make the characteristic visual of the package. Using pastel tones that almost merge the box with the background, a point is being made on the invisibility of the tricks one can use to deal with basic everyday demands such as getting up everyday, eating, walking down a crowded street. The pink hue of the painting alludes to skin or the color of fresh scars leaving a feeling of vulnerability and tenderness of the physical in relationship to the psychological.
